Winter Wonders @ Brandon

Hello Teens!

Winter is finally here! It has brought some interesting happenings at Brandon along with it. For the months of December and January, the bookshelves in the Young Adult section will be sporting some wacky winter hats. Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to vote on your favorite of the bunch. The winning hat will be worn by Ms. Beth (yes, me...I will probably look like Eeyore) at the January Family Night...actually the entire day...all day. So, vote wisely!

This coming Monday night (November 25) at 5:00 pm, we will be hosting our teen version of Graham Cracker House Wars! Be ready to build an amazing cracker cottage with delectable decorations. Bring your decorating skills and an old shirt, because this will get messy! Villages will be consumed immediately following the judging.

Reminders: 

• We will be closing @ noon Wednesday, November 27 and will be closed the remainder of that week.
• Don't forget to find your ducks in the duck hunt at the library! Drawing for the $100 gift card will be @ the Christmas Puppet Show and Doughnut Wreath program December 7 @ 1:00 pm.

What's Happening With Brandon?

Hello Teens!

Our guessing game "What's The Title?" has now been updated for the month of November! Try to guess the title of the novel in the jar to earn a prize at the end of the month! Last month's novel title was [🥁]: The Hunger Games! Congrats to those who guessed correctly and good luck for this month!

For those of you with technical interests, our Coding Club for middle graders will be changing to STEAM+ in the new year. We will have two sessions each 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month: one for ages 9-12 at 4:00 pm and one for ages 13-18 at 5:00 pm. There will be a variety of activities having to do with ALL aspects of STEAM, so don't miss out! Expand your technological skills with us!

Brandon Pizza Taste-Off

Hello Teens!

As you can see, we had several people come to have a truly delicious time at our Pizza Taste-Off! Four Brandon pizza establishments kindly donated pizzas in order for these distinguished judges to determine whose pizza truly reigned supreme! (I know it's a bad pun, but it's true...and funny.)

After much enjoyment, the voting finally determined the best cheese pizzas in the following order:

1) Mazzios
2) Pizza Hut
3) Papa John's
4) Lost Pizza

It was a close race...well, somewhat close. Fairly close. I mean...

...ok, it was almost unanimous.

Every judge walked away with stomachs full of pizza and hearts full of gratitude for our wonderful sponsors who made this event possible with their kind donations!

Don't forget: our next program for middle graders and teens will be November 4th. We will be celebrating International Games Week by attempting to best the digital version of OPERATION!
