Tween and Teen Virtual Programs

We had big fun making catapults with Matt from Magee and Baby Yodas out of paracord with Lisa from Flowood last week.  This week we are learning how to do cosplay make-up and wig styling with area cosplayers.  Today's Tween class will be taught by Katie of Vixcosplays at 4pm on Zoom.

Thursday's Teen class will be taught by Raechel of RaeBae Cosplay at 4pm on Zoom.

Be sure to check the CMRLS Facebook group for the link on the day of the program!

We are also challenging you to create your own art out of found nature items.  Make an image or sculpture out of nature items you find outside.  Take a photo and post it under the challenge link in the Tween or Teen Summer Reading group.  A winner will be randomly chosen from each group on Friday, June 26th.  The winner will receive a $15 gift card.

Once Upon A Summertime...

Hello Teens!

As you've probably heard/read from our fellow CMRLS libraries, the time for our Virtual Summer Library Program has arrived! Get ready for some fun programs for teens and tweens over the coming weeks (check out
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1464632323737919/ and https://www.facebook.com/groups/724653311633020/ for more details). We also have some Take-Home bags at the Brandon Library! These bags have some crafts and activities that go along with the theme for that particular week. Just ask for them at curbside. This week's Take-Home bag is Star Wars themed!

Also, while you have a bit of time on your hands, we have an activity for you to break the monotony. Try to make your own bucket list! Here's a set of instructions to get you started:

1. Buy an oversized poster board.
2. Use colored markers to write out your list.
3. Get creative with all the activities and write them down.
4. This could be a nice family activity that could be documented with photos.
5. Then at the end of summer compile the photos into a fun little photo book.

Here is an example that someone did:

When you make your list, please keep in mind that the pandemic is still in effect and social distancing is important.

We miss you all and can't wait for the time when we can have fun in person again!

Stay safe, stay sane, and stay awesome!
