John Read, editor of Stay Tooned Magazine, spoke with teens about cartooning and touched briefly on illustrating. He emphasized the need to keep drawing if one wants to make a profession of cartooning. He also shared that cartooning is a solitary job whereas other types of media such as graphic novels or comic books have different people who do the drawing, the inking, etc etc. The teens who attended seemed to have enjoyed their time and shared their artistic talents on paper. They even allowed me to photograph their works. Check out this link: http://www.flickr.com/groups/pearlpubliclibrary/
